KYOCERA AVX shows new A-Series antennas at CES

KYOCERA AVX innovations from CES now in the GUDECO Elektronik online shop

We are delighted to have KYOCERA AVX, one of the world's leading producers of advanced electronic components for accelerating technological innovation, as one of our manufacturing partners. We are also impressed by the new flat, surface-mount automotive antennas in the A series. They were presented in Las Vegas in January 2024 and are of course available for purchase from GUDECO.

AEC-Q200 and other standards are also met

Although the AEC-Q200 quality standard for the automotive industry does not cover antenna products, all tests for the A-Series devices have been carried out in accordance with the AEC-Q200 procedures and requirements. These include tests for temperature cycling, mechanical shock and automotive grade vibration.

The A-Series is also available with IMDS (International Material Data System) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documents, which are important for car manufacturers.

High functionality and performance despite minimalist designs

Some of the new A-Series antennas also feature KYOCERA AVX's Isolated Magnetic Dipole^® (IMD) technology, which enables higher functionality and performance in smaller and thinner designs. In addition, two of these antennas (A1001013 and A1001011) can be used both onshore and offshore.

This capability is critical for highly metallic environments, such as wireless battery management systems (wBMS), where the antenna ensures wireless communication between the battery cell monitoring chip and the BMS control unit.

The world's leading semiconductor manufacturer ADI is committed to developing a robust information ecosystem around EV battery data. ADI's wBMS, currently deployed on multiple EV platforms, is ISO 21434 Cybersecurity Assurance Level Four (CAL 4) certified and is recognized as the industry benchmark for RF robustness and efficiency. The inclusion of the KYOCERA A-Series AVX antennas is therefore a testament to their exceptionally high level of quality.
