KYOCERA AVX presents new 9159-600 Series Card Edge Connectors

An important addition to the successful product range

KYOCERA AVX has implemented the innovative products by using the already proven beryllium-copper compression contact system and a staggered contact design. This now offers twice the number of contacts in approximately the same form factor as the existing 9159-500 series single row connectors, another building block in the high-quality KYOCERA AVX product range, as the company has stood for reliable compression contact technology and signal integrity, even in harsh environments, for more than 25 years.

In addition to the advantages mentioned above, the 9159-600 series offers further benefits that make it particularly suitable for applications that require a vertical PCB connection. This is the case in the automotive industry, for example, but also in transportation, LED lighting and industrial and medical applications such as diagnostic and testing equipment and portable devices.

Technical data and facts:

The new 9159-600 series inverted card edge connectors are designed for 1.6 mm thick PCBs with gold-plated pads and are suitable for 2.5 A per contact, 300 V AC, 10 mating cycles and operating temperatures from -40 °C to +125 °C. The connector features UL94 V-0 white, glass-filled, high-temperature nylon insulators with 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 contacts, gold plating on the nose and lead-free, matte tin plating on the ends. It is packed on tape and reel in quantities of 700 pieces.
